Chapter Twenty-Three

TONIGHT, WAS MEANT to be one of meetings; yakuza politics at its finest as Goushi reasserted his dominance over Tokyo and remind those on its western outskirts that he wasn’t so easily knocked over. It had taken weeks to arrange the meetings, further proving how much his influence in the western districts of Greater Tokyo had weakened while Ogawa’s had strengthened, capitalising on the disquiet that already existed amongst these smaller, inconsequential groups. Goushi had always ignored them, never seeing them as large enough to challenge the Yamashita’s dominance and threw them the leftover scraps of the deals he struck when it suited him. But with Ogawa’s ongoing disloyalty; openly disregarding the pledge sealed with sake, he was beginning to regret those actions.

But those plans had been discarded with Goushi no longer in the mood to deal with the painstaking negotiations that came with such meetings.

Rumours of Tadashi’s impending release from TMPD protective custody had reached Goushi’s ears from several different sources within the agency and he eagerly awaited his pet’s reappearance. He’d planned to spend several hours indulging in Tadashi’s body, reminding the young man why he shouldn’t make such foolhardy moves without his permission before heading out to the arranged meetings. Several senior members of his organisation only too happy to help him punish Tadashi as well, but the arousal that licked at his skin and kept a devilish grin on his face—with the thought of Tadashi’s beautiful, pitiful begging—waned as the day drew on and Tadashi was yet to be sighted.

Anger brewed like storm clouds in his mind and overshadowed everything else while his ability to restrain his temper weakened the longer Tadashi remained missing. Except there was one man who knew where Tadashi was. Asano began to silently search for Ogawa before realising how futile his attempts were as news reached him of the abduction of a police officer from outside the Shinjuku Police Station—a detective who wanted Tadashi dead as much as Ogawa did.

And true enough, Goushi failed to find Tadashi. The man had slipped out of his grasp and left Goushi with an empty bed that now required filling.

With his meetings cancelled, Goushis had instead come here to his favourite club hidden in the back streets of Ginza. A private club that catered to men with tastes like his and had the money to purchase the privacy he offered so they could indulge away from the public eye. He peered at the main floor from his private room above, fingers wrapped tight around a glass half-filled with whiskey and melting ice and watched the skimpily clad waiters move around the tables.

The newer ones were easy to spot, flinching at the hands reaching out to grab them; fondle and caress their bodies. Unable to deal with the attention their trays wobbled, and drinks spilt much to the delight of the customers only too happy touch them more as they panicked. Goushi grinned as one who barely looked eighteen squawked at the hand grazing over his arse while he delivered drinks to a table.
